Felt Books

Mini shop & archive

Felt Books started as an online shop selling vintage paperback books with rad covers that marry a combination of type and illustration for classic works of literature. After being slightly despondent after each sale, parting ways each book individually found, it became clear the mini shop needed to be more. Thus, a mini-archive was recently added, scanning each cover (front and back) and making the vintage paperbacks readily available for visual reference—categorized by author, decade, or typeface used (if known): currently available on the increasingly irrelevant, Tumblr, where it is free.

For this project I worked on all of the brand elements that are starting to form the growing felt books identity (logo and shipping materials only so far), scouting for all the books to photograph, list, and scan while also trying to identify all the cover typography. With the latest addition of running the website portion alongside the mini shop, I’ve also made minor modifications to the templated theme.
